Kura Sushi

This Kura Sushi restaurant consisted of a remodel of an existing space. The job involved the installation of four (4) CaptiveAire Kitchen Hoods, one (1) CaptiveAire MAU, two (2) 20 Ton and 17.5 Ton Carrier RTU’s, two (2) exhaust fans, four (4) electric heaters and air curtains, and 4,710 pounds of ductwork.

In collaboration with Rycon Construction, we completed this project in September of 2024 with the restaurant opening shortly after. It is another great addition to this shopping center in downtown Rockville, MD.

Kura Sushi, founded in 1977 in Japan, has grown into an internationally recognized chain of conveyor belt sushi restaurants. The company was one of the pioneers of the kaiten-zushi (conveyor belt sushi) concept, which revolutionized sushi dining by offering quick, affordable access to a wide variety of dishes. Over the decades, Kura Sushi expanded beyond Japan, opening locations in the U.S. and other countries. Known for its innovative use of technology, Kura Sushi introduced automated plate removal systems and touch screens for ordering, streamlining the dining experience. The chain also incorporates playful features like rewards for returning plates, making it not only a meal but an interactive and enjoyable experience for customers of all ages.
